OVERVIEW
This UX case study explores the collaboration with Opelon Professional, a leader in hair products for professionals, aiming to enhance the digital experience for hairstylists and salon owners. Through user-centric research and iterative design, an intuitive website was created to showcase Opelon Professional's products, offer industry insights, and facilitate seamless purchasing, ultimately fostering customer engagement and loyalty in the competitive hair care market.

Inspirational contents 

According to our research, users expect the website to serve as a reference for trends, offering inspirational content. Therefore, the website now includes looks curated by professionals, interactive content showcasing trends, cross-product selling options, a discovery section for product exploration, blog articles covering industry insights, and tutorials for learning product usage techniques.

A travel experience that's there for you before, during, and after your trip

UX writing played a pivotal role in the project, simplifying complex technical terms into intuitive actions and language that resonated naturally with users, enhancing their understanding and usability.

Based on insights from user interviews, we found three important stages during the travel journey: trip preparation, arrival, and post-trip tasks like organizing memories and administrative duties. Our solution focuses on supporting users at each of these moments to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience.

A community hub

Users rely most on trust from fellow users. Thus, we've developed a community hub featuring style inspiration content sourced from Instagram, uploaded by users using a designated hashtag. Additionally, users can find a directory of local ambassadors, access e-learning courses and tutorials to master Opelon Pro products, download assets, and stay updated on upcoming events.

Findability: from products to salons

The findability was a priority on the website. That’s why a mega menu and filters allow professionals to search for products by categories, collections and characteristics. A salon finder also enables professionals to find all the salons using Opelon Pro products.

Arriving at a destination can be stressful, especially for spontaneous travelers who haven't spent much time planning. Recognizing this, we found it essential to send a welcoming and reassuring notification upon arrival, reminding users of the capabilities of their online bank.

Results & impact

The website's success goals were reached. Opelon representatives noticed a decrease in the length of phone and email conversations, as professionals are now able to independently access the necessary information and products.
